Dog fights as sport now illegal in Mexico

Sorry if you are critical of me or whatever; this is good news, the legislators trying to change centuries of tradition:

Like most laws in Mexico, it's all window dressing to make the lawmakers seem ethical.

Never been to a fight but been invited to them. Assumed law enforcement knew about it but didn't care. These people don't care about dogs and probably enjoy seeing a dog ripped apart.

Argue tradition about dog/bullfighting but it's still a blood thirsty sports. Some MX's love their blood.

F*ck it.

I seem to recall seeing signs for c-ck fights in Vizcaino earlier this year. Sound familiar?

oh lordy here we go.
Newsflash: if you're going to eat cows / pigs / chickens / fish / baby goats / horses (all mistakes) ... there's no logical reason not to eat dogs & cats.

(brainwashed much?)

Dogs are People TOO !

Or BETTER.

I've met far more disagreeable people (especially kids) than disagreeable dogs.

One can make the (logical) argument regarding the hypocrisy evidenced by eating animal meat and holding the dog to a different (higher) standard, but SO WHAT !

That's just how it is.

As I noted to a friend in a disagreement over the relative value of dogs ......................."In the event of danger, I'd save your dog before your kid."

IF it were MY dog v. MY kid ?

Hard to say. Tough choice. Glad I never had to make that one.

It's ALL relative

Monday afternoon/evening deciding whether to head home from the campground as a precaution due to the Manzanita Fire, after driving down into Beaumont to get a better look at it, we drove back up and I ventured that we'd likely be OK.

To which my (nervous) wife replied " What about the Dogs ? They don't have a say. Are you going to put them in danger ?"

"you're right. Let's go home for the night".

Do ya know who in Mexico is entertaining themselves with the inhuman blood sports....c-ckfight, dog fights, and Gawd only knows what else? The same element that has private zoos.
These wanted hombres, cartel folk and crime bosses, can't risk public exposure for fear of arrest, so they create their own diversions.
I'm sure these people will obey the law.

Now....when the government outlaws bullfighting, we'll know they truly care. [which, of course, they don't]
