San Felipe stopover hotel recomendation
Will probably get tired by the time I get to San Felipe northbound in a few days. I haven't spent the night there in ages. So I'm looking for a hotel
with good, quiet AC (I'm sure it will be blazing) and a decent bed. Doesn't have to be in tourist area, but I'm not a cheapskate so not interested in
a dump either.
Out on the highway is fine too. Thanks for your ideas. Tom

We have stayed at this two, the first one "Hacienda Don Jesus" is cheaper but good for a stopover:

This other one "George's" is a little more pricey but affers more in "accommodations" and its closer to the malecon.

The Hotel Sky Blue (Km. 182), on the left (west), if northbound from town was recommended by a couple who is building a home nearby who are staying
there. I was staying at the Hotel Diamante (Km. 185.5), also nearby. Both looked nice from the outside, driving by.
The Hotel Diamante (just south) was not a good experience for me, as I was dead tired and the only guest in the spread out place when I checked in
about 6 pm... I even asked to be where it would be quietest. Well, between 9:30 and 10:00 a couple was given the room right next to mine... and then
two families and with kids running back and forth were put in the rooms above mine! The rest of the place was vacant!

We usually stay at El Capitan when we need a stop over beds are a little hard but even when the place is packed it been fairly quiet mostly filled
with travelers looking for a quiet place to stop for the night

Hotel de Los Angeles. It will be the green 3 story on your right a couple miles before town. Clean and good beds. Ac works too.

Just for clarification, that would be for a traveler headed north?

Rode a bicycle around SF a couple weeks back, saw the Los Angeles Motel ehall mentioned, painted green, can't miss it,
2 mi. so. of SF, it's on the Puerticitos Rd., Hwy 5,
looks like good parking, it is right on the Hwy, perhaps
3/4 of a mile no. of the commercial harbor

Will also recommend El Caribe (next to El Capitan, look for the ATV rental out front). Enclosed courtyard for parking, large quiet rooms and good AC.
Good Starbucks type coffee place next door, easy walk to the Malecon.

El Caribe (next to El Capitan) has always been good to me. Very secure parking. AC works. I don't remember it being loud. White noise. Beds kinda
stiff. Never a problem with showers and walking distance to anything you may need.

El Capitan is OK.......stayed there in the heat of July/August and the AC worked.......beds ain't great but I survived.
Also have stayed at the Cortez....first room AC didn't work good but after they moved me the next room AC was fine......no one there last
August........it was too hot........
There's another new hotel on the north end.......let me google and get back to you......

Was in San Felipe about 6 months ago and stayed at the Hotel Caribe for one night.
It is a nice hotel at a decent price in a great location.
I had bad luck and got a room with a bed bug problem. Got ate up real bad.
From now on going to check the bed WHEREVER I stay from now on.
It can happen anywhere.

We stayed at Las Palmas (a couple blocks up off the malecon), nice. Excellent octopus appetizer!

I second hotel Los Angeles, stayed there many times, they also have a small pool to swim in, nice when it's 100 outside. Last time I stayed there
(June 2016) it was roughly $35 USD per night and the AC worked great. Traveling north it is on the right about 2 miles south of San Felipe.
