CURRENT Weather in Baja Sur - East Cape and Pacific Coast
Nomads,
I'm headed to Todos Santos area, Cerritos, Cabo, and the East Cape very soon. Wondering what your night time temps are lately?
Specifically East Cape, can you camp and fall asleep in that hot weather this time of year or do you need 5 beers to help bring on sleep?
I'm hoping to not have to do hotels the whole week with my daughter and get out to the boonies.

Gettin excited, No?!! Our weather on Pac side cools to mid 70s at night but all depends. Camping out on the beaches is much cooler here near San
Pedrito Beach. Safe as safe can be.
Beautiful mornings and abundant sunshine follows! Your travel guide should give you km readings for beach exit past the long bridge. Call me when
you you are in Asuncion; I would like to salute Shari. No real surf today but small, shifty peaks. Check Surfline. 5 beers always helps. Tio

If you figure out a way to hang a couple of hammocks, you will sleep much cooler. Shade is at a premium too. Some beaches on the East Cape have
several small palapa's set up for beachgoers. These are too small to park cars under, but shade is shade when you need it.
I have been sleeping in a hammock for decades and nothing beats it, even at home. I have always had hammocks in my vans over the years.
Shade and a breeze is all you need.
I have designed a couple of rope hammock [gawdawful, comfort wise], stands to work with the string hammocks [heavenly comfortable] that break down
into small pieces for portability. I added welded on curved pieces for the extra ht, that is needed for the string hammocks. For decorative purposes
only, I wrapped the steel tubes with different colors of rope, so it looks more like a piece of furniture for the home, but holds up well outdoors.
Have a great trip with your daughter. The East Cape has its well known spots that draw a crowd, but the thing is, just down the road or around the
next bend in the road you could have your very own break to yourselves. Bien Viaje Ateo.

Pacific side is really hot during the day but still cool at night (bcs),
East cape is really really hot during the day and hot at night. Out of the camper on the cot on the sand for me now. This just changed about 10 days
ago with all the storms out there influencing our weather. This next week looks slightly hotter with Hilary coming in hot (!!). Those palapas are
looong gone. I suggest getting on the road sooner rather than later as Hilary is about to light us up. If you are in TS and looking for cheap accom.

We're definitely gonna surf over there!!! Hammock idea is great and stoked you design and use your own!
If we camp it'll probably only be one night unless we fall in love. We're gonna be super mobil and plan son seeing a ton of spots, unless we feel
like hunkering down.

Ateo, if you haven't left yet, There are a couple of the best surf hats on the market waiting for you and your daughter just off the 5 in Leucadia.
Using these allowed me to surf in the middle of day down there when it was too good to miss and prevented me from frying my face. Have a great trip.

Tio, thanks for update on the palapa's. Sorry to hear most of those small palapa's at many of the arroyos on the east cape are no longer there. That
was a nice gift from the government for however long they lasted.
They would have been good points to tie one end of a hammock to with the other on the back end of a truck. An extra high tide and a large swell could
have taken some off those out. Sometimes those arroyo's do get washed over the berm. Thanks to all here.

Gorgeous days on the Pac side these days - ditto what Tio said. It's super comfortable along the coast - it gets hot fast as you move inland.
