Beneath a Scarlett Sky by Mark Sullivan; a novel based on the true life of a young man in Italy during WW2.... EXCELLENT READ especially if you like WW2 history with lots of action that actually happened...

Just finished two great autobiographies: "The Sound of Gravel," about a young gal raised in a polygamist cult in northern Mexico, and

"Every Falling Star," written by a young man orphaned and growing up on the streets in rural North Korea.

Both were eye-openers and page-turners and I highly recommend them.

King of the Moon: A Novel of Baja California. So far, a very good read.

Lines and Shadows

Joseph Wambaugh

Yep, read it. Real story. Too crazy to make a movie, people wouldn't believe it. San Diego cops dressed like illegal immigrants to protect illegal immigrants being chased and shot at by border patrol. BARF Squad.
