New Punta Chivato internet outage

I receive and e-mail reply after informing them the Punta Chivato site was down. Received the answer the next morning that the reason is there is still no power in San Lucas. When they power up the town we should be good again. I kept my Excede service for just this reason. I forgot quickly how frustrating Excede is. I still haven't been able to upload photos to photobucket and site like eebmike take a very long time to show. A neighbor just informed me the service is back now. Later....

I inquired about getting that service here in Bahia Asuncion and he said he needs 40 people to sign up for it before he can make it work here???? Are there 40 in Chivato who have it?

It is not only Chivato. He services San Lucas, San Bruno, Palo Verde and Chivato, so 40 was a no brainer. He also does security cameras and other electronic things. I have found him to be a really hard worker and very sharp about setting up the internet systems.

sounds like he may have got the required 40 then....I hesitate to solicit 40 people for any service especially an unknown one. If something goes wrong the blame will surely rain down upon me....but I sure am tempted as it sounds like a great alternative to the abysmal service from telmex at the moment.

Competition for services will win out in the end.

Shari, you deserve better for your community in BA, especially when your input is of such value to many of us Baja lovers. You do what you can with what is currently available.

If there is a better option, bring it on.

Thanks to all here.

This setup in p. Chivato is probably selling Telmex DSL cable internet through the WiFi tower. Or - through the sequence of towers from where the cable ends, to P. Chivato.

It was only up for a few hours last night and it went down. I don't know if San Lucas has power or not but at 2:45 Sunday the internet is not working.

I just talked to San Bruno and they finally have power and internet, so you should be up soon.

Shari, I know what you are talking about I promoted Osiris and felt like Exede was the best thing going in our area, but when they had a few problems, I caught a lot of flack for suggesting it was a good program. So when Adrian started The Infinitum program, I was happy to put the info out there, but told everyone to talk directly to the installer if they had problems.

Pescador, Excede was the greatest thing and I'm happy with it as backup. Hughes was good too for it's time. Thank you. Infinitum is just the next step. Still no Infinitum service here. 6:30

Hey Jim, Russ,

If it's up and running in San Lucas, the problem probably lies in the tower he placed in Pta. Chivato.
