Have most my flat roofs (1/4" slope per foot) finished with tile, love the view from there, and use it quiet often.
This part of the roof gets hot in the summer:

and it's getting real cosy at night:

Sometimes planing ahead works out nicely, the first floor rooms under the palapa are nice and cool in the summer, the other rooms not so......
