You could look at Square (squareup.com) for CC processing.

You won't be able to swipe a card with your phone since it technically doesn't work outside the USA. But you can send an invoice to your customers when they make a reservation or on arrival then have them log in to their email and make payment. Or use the POS (Point of Sale) system if you use a VPN. You would have to use it with a USA bank account but the payments are automatically deposited into your account.

If you are using a mexican PP account and bank then why not bill in Pesos and let the customer pay the exchange and foreign transaction fees if they don't want to carry cash?

"Card payment acceptance with the Square app is currently available in the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom. We currently don’t support payment card processing outside of these countries or in U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Northern Mariana Islands."

First thought I had was the same as others - and I concur - raise your price to absorb the fees. Offer a cash discount if you choose to do so.

thanks everyone for your input..I really appreciate the suggestions and was hoping someone knew the magic answer but nay...I am muddling along here checking out all the options. I will look at that Canadian company today. I dont have an American bank account as I am not American.

I Zettle didnt work here because of internet issues...too bad
I cant seem to get Google Wallet to work either.

so it seems PayPal is it for now...I am looking at Amazon pay too.
We havent raised our prices in years and hesitate to do so as we still arent real busy most of the year. I often give loyal customer discounts and other random price breaks for various reasons. I think instead of cash discounts, extra fee for PayPal is the winner.

keep me posted if anyone comes up with a better way...have a great day amigos!

Shari- I see a company called ZOOM advertised on Brazilian television.

I have never used it myself but it is a way to send money to another country. When I looked it up briefly on google, it says it is a paypal service? All I know is that it is popular with Brazilians.

If you and Lori find another good option, be sure to share!

Hola, Shari!

This Mexican service called Intercam Banco looks to be getting set up in Los Barriles (scroll down):

Intercom Banco website:

Perhaps they might fit your needs?
