Keep in mind that if mainland stations are being supplied from Texas to Arizona and down, regular unleaded gas is selling for about $1.50/gallon more in Mexico. That may make it worthwhile.

On Baja, any station from Ensenada north is probably being supplied from NOB and the Todos Santos and Cabo and La Paz stations may be coming over via ocean going tankers.

As expected, competition hasnt really brought the price of gas down in Mexico.

What is the cost of diesel currently and does it vary from the mainland to the peninsula? I've been paying $2.99 per gallon for 2 months. The price hasn't moved even though gasoline prices have in both directions.

More than $2.99 per gallon. Fill up before you cross southbound and cross back northbound as close to empty as you dare. While in Baja, don't do the math on the cost and you'll have a good time.

I´m paying 20 pesos a liter down here on the mainland. So depending on the rate you´re getting somewhere way to close to 4 bucks a gallon:(

Thanks. I'm moving back to the southern Baja area, where I lived in La Paz and Cabo,so I'm not going on vacation. The cost of fuel was simply a question and will have NO bearing on how much I enjoy living there again. So by your reply,I suppose the cost is some where between $3.00 and $8.00 per gallon.

I think chippy hit the cost pretty close. I used to calculate what I was paying but decided it was something I didn't have any control over so it wasn't worth worrying about. But I'm not living there full time so it's not a living expense.

Here is a website that lists the price of diesel in Mexico. It shows pricing up to 3 Sept. But maybe someone who is down there can verify what diesel is selling for in their area.

https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/Mexico/diesel_prices/

Marinas in Mexico are probably selling diesel for 5-15% more than that.

At 20.07 pesos per liter time 3.785 liters per gallon divided by 19 pesos per dollar equals 3.998 dollars per gallon. And to get 19 pesos per dollar right now might take some looking.

$4 chocolates per gallon anyway you slice it.
50 centavos more than diesel in Yuma AZ
Within pennies of San Diego CA
