New candidates for Scholarship Project

So, I gave it a lot of thought and have decided to continue the scholarship project this year because I have a group of really cool, kind, smart, needy teens.

First part was to visit the high school and get an updated list with current GPA's since only Straight A students qualify.

This gave me the following prospective kids and in about an hour we have our first mentoring meeting.

The first names on the list are the current sponsored students, the ones in the middle are those that have needed help during one or more semesters but not every semester. The 6 names on the bottom are the students who meet my prerequisites.

Michelle, Alexander, Aylin, Elizabeth, Enrique

What a fun meeting! I had them describe themselves, write a family bio, Enrique got a beautiful Toshiba computer laptop since he has no computer and we studied some English verbs. Saturday and Sunday I will start a new class with all their peers who want to prepare for their college entrance exam. These students will be there tomorrow too.

Michelle came for the first time (I had not met her before) and Gustavo was working as a bricklayer and can only come tomorrow.

I love working with really smart teens
