This is the first I´ve heard of down here and have yet to see one. Hiluxes are everywhere down here just not 4x4 diesels. Seems funny baja would have
them a year before the rest of Mexico.

Towing capacity is listed as 3,500 kg. - 7,700 lbs. (from Australia).
My 2005 4.7 ltr. gasoline Tundra is listed 6,500 lbs.

All Hilux 17 down as far as I know are 2.7 4 banger gas stick only no 4x4. So I had to buy second best in 2014 Nissan NP300 4x4 turbo Diesel. Yes rear
susp rock hard changed to off road springs works great. As for power the little 4 banger hauls ass,ask any on pole line trip. The new Hilux will not
have rough ride or be under powered. As I drove one in Peru for 1 week.

family has the Amorok. Great riding truck with power however NO torque when compared to my crappy riding Mitsubishi L-200 which has 0 power but tons
of torque . Plus the recently changed battery is an Audi conversion at over $200 and only VW had the battery. Maybe not a good back country rig.
Personally would not touch a Nissan especially here in La Paz.
Hilux is smaller frame than Tacoma

Are you talking about diesel motors in both the vw and mitsu? When I was shopping diesel small trucks the l200 and the rok where very close in torque.
Battery an audi conversion I just put a LTH(mexican made) battery in mine 1300

A friend has the Amorok 4x4 double cab just like my Nissan. After driving both the Vw takes a back seat to the Nissan in the power department. Also
every buy German parts in Mexico $$$$$$

I actually had put money down on a nissan like yours but after driving the vw I bailed on the nissan. The nissan was smaller, a 5 speed,had a terrible
ride (compared to the rok) and got lousy mpg (due to gearing).
I´m not a for life fan boy of the Amarok it was just the best (for me) when I was hunting for a truck. I´m gonna go test drive the Hilux as soon as
they get one on the lot !

That would make the most sense but Baja Norte has ULSD and I guess that means you can't drive those trucks into the US? Not sure how the US prevents
it though. You certainly can't register them in the US.

I drive my lsd using VW to the USA (az/ca/baja) a couple times a year. No problems. It runs fine on ulsd.
You are correct on the "can´t register them in the us".

Have to
agree with you my Nissan had double over load springs in rear. Road like dump truck. I replaced with off road springs. Also Agree very small double
cab short bed. That is what I wanted as I have full size Dodge double cab so I did not want Mid size truck. As far as MPGs again your right brand new
only 20MPGs. I blocked the ERG, Removed Cat/Muffler one big 2 1/2 pipe. Put Warn locking hubs on truck. Now 33mpg also truck is silent even with no
muffler. When I visit USA drive truck all over. Get many thumbs up as far as fuel any fuel in US or Mex no problems. On pole line 4x4 trip it pulled a
5,000 pound Bronco in deep sand at 40 to 50mph. As much as I love this truck I have always wanted a new Hilux 4x4 diesel. So once I test the Mex Hilux
I will sell mine or keep both.
