Mechanic in/near Vicente Guerrero

Hi folks, any recommendations for a good mechanic in or near Vicente Guerrero? This is for a 97 Toyota Land Cruiser, if I can afford to be that picky. Thanks.

Post on Talkbaja/facebook. Majority of members live in SQ Valley and border area. Moderator Ron Hoff and others live in San Q area would have good info. Lots of gringos in Costa Brava area, Colonia VG, too! Suerte.

Baja Nomad member 'bajatrailrider' knows a super Toyota mechanic in San Vicente, if needed.

I know of 2 good mechanics . In Zapata ( just North of Vicente Guerrero) there is a guy named Rafa. He is on the East side of the highway. If you're heading North stop when you see Baja Materials. ! or 2 blocks south is his shop. He's underneath what used to be the Zapata Mercado.
The second guy is a gringo. James. He heads up the fire dept. Everyone in town knows him. Just ask around.
Both these guys are honest and good mechanics.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up connecting with a good mechanic, José Félix, through Richard at Cuatro Casas surf camp. Not out of the deep sand yet but it’s looking promising.

A random bolt left under the valve cover, found in pieces in the oil pan. But even so, the tapping that alerted us to a problem continues. We will look for a mechanic tomorrow in San Quintin. Recommendations? Thanks!
