SF Giant fans, start making your summer vacation plans!

Very strong indications that the Giants have negotiated a trade with the Marlins for Giancarlo Stanton. Giants GM Bobby Evans says they have agreed to terms of a trade, but Stanton hasn't OFFICIALLY waived his no-trade clause. That is mostly a formality, as he agreed to meet with Giants officials last week and both sides came away impressed.

No details on the financial terms or the players involved. Stanton currently has the highest paying contract in baseball; 295 million over 10 years.

Yes, we have been quietly watching; however, the only thing worse than the Giants hitting last year was their Bullsh*t-pen. Jaysus Aloo, they were terrible.

Not to be. Stanton has apparently vetoed deals to the Giants and the Cardinals.

Might have to make plans to watch Ohtani play in Anaheim next year. As usual, the Padres took a swing but struck out on this deal!!

Eppler says there is no way that Ohtani is going to be allowed to play in the outfield. The Angels dont need another outfielder anyway, except maybe a 4th, more defensive outfielder to sub in for Upton. He's not a great fielder, really.

No, if Ohtani plays anywhere in the field beside pitching, it might be at first base. However, indications are that Pujols is going to be playing more at first instead of being just a DH. Cron is likely to be traded or released, at this point.

At least in Japan, Ohtani almost never played the field nor DHed on the days before, the day he pitches nor the day after he pitches. So, he probably pitches once a week, and DHes three times a week or more.

It's much easier being a Padres fan.... As long as they don't finish dead last, it's a good year!! :D

It was based on a simple verity: if a locale had been transformational for you, and you had put the hard yards in to get there and to learn it, to know it, why in gods name would you broadcast the news, thus ruining the future experience not only for yourself, but for future adventurers?
