permit neded for small addition?

Am getting conflicting info from 2 different builders regarding need or not needed for building permit for small addition.....already have my casita manifested....do I need a permit for a small 200 sq ft addition? (is it required, or not required?) If not........how would that addition get into the tax roles and "manifested"..or not worry about that till possibility of selling and provide receipts for such addition?

I doubt you'll have a problem where you are located.

if it is ejido land no permit is required and depending on where you are if you are in the municipality, some offices are more demanding of permits than others.

sounds likke it may be ejido land then in which case no permits are needed or municipal taxes.

please check your fidecomiso for notes about NOT being able to make any changes....it will save you a major headache.

getting permits is really easy in santa rosalia but I have no idea what it is like in your neck of the woods.

actually in CJ ;lots of building happens w/o permits, especially small additions..been there, done that

am just trying to determine why a prominent builder out there said not needed, and a small timer said needed.

when I initially built...a permit was not required for really small cabins.....I seem to remember around 600 sq ft.......mine came in just a tad larger...so it is a reasonable question to ask the actual requirements

if no one is around and it can be done rather quickly I'd just do it. but I have been caught and had to pay later so its easier to just get the permit

finally found a good answer to my own question..in an article I had printed out 10 yrs ago from bajainsider regarding building, permits, manifestaion.........if the addition were not permitted and manifested then it would not be able to be accounted for in overhead when selling
