RT 3
Hi All,
I amplanning on driving from San Felipe to Mulege tomorrow. I know that about 15miles of 3 is not paved but what I want to know is is it drivable?

yes
Lots of vehicles of all types navigate it regularly, closer to 23 miles of dirt.
How quickly depends on your vehicle.
You may likely encounter semi tractor-trailers going pretty slow.

San Felipe to Mulege
Hi All,
I am planning on driving to Mulege tomorrow from San Felipe. I hear that about 15 miles of RT 3 is not paved, but it will take me to rRT 1. Is the
unpaved part drivable? I have a Honda Pilot, 4wd, but not very high clearance.

no 4wd needed
Hard packed roadway, typical dirt road with a few rocks thrown in for a couple of miles west of Coco's. You do not need to be concerned about
clearance driven at a reasonable speed.

Mex highway 3 will take you to Ensenada. Highway 5 is the one that heads south to Mex 1.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

obvious to me....
...that he was referring to the road from San Felipe through Gonzaga to Highway 1 at Chapala, then south to Mulege
The thought that he misnumbered it in his question seemed not even worth mentioning.

It was pretty consistant from Km. 74, Puertecitos, in 2007 to Km. 167 in late 2013. In other words, about 10-12 km. per year.
Now, 4 years have passed with vertually no new paved sections open.
