Aba Seguros car insurance?
Hola amigos y Feliz Navidad,
I got in an accident on the tollroad, btwn San Jose del Cabo airport and Cabo, back in November. I've been dealing with this insurance company for
about 5 weeks now.
First they sent me to this tiny, crappy, repair shop just north of Cabo. I told them no I wouldn't use these guys and asked for a second shop. The
second shop, Humaya (right in Cabo) looked pretty decent and the manager spoke excellent English. So I was thinking, cool lets do this.
Long story short, I spoke to a guy who had used this shop and was very unhappy with their work.
My question is; I'm trying to get the insurance company to pay me what the coast would be to repair it in Mex and I'll drive it back to USA for the
repair but I'm having zero luck trying to get a response from the insurance company.
They always answer my phone calls, good, but tend to put you on hold forever then the bottom line is "we will send you info by e-mail" and I never
hear back from them. Ha, imagine that, right. t I have to deal with the shops
I'm wondering if I'm just stuck with paying for this out of my pocket. I'm sure there are some great repair shop down here, but I have to deal with
the ones that deal with this insurance company.
I got the insurance through Vagabundos, Aba Seguros.

Vagabundos should be helping you to resolve this issue. Are you dealing with them??

I am getting the exact same run-around with Qualitas (purchased through Lewis & Lewis). My car was in an accident in late-October and was
totaled. Over 2 months later I'm still waiting for them to give me a cash offer. Lewis & Lewis just send e-mails to them (like I do) and once in
a while I get a response which just says that an offer is coming. So frustrating; sounds like they're all the same.

bajabound is the answer
at least they travel to baja and understand
...the others just sell insurance
get the lawyer part to protect you

I wish I had known; I will never buy insurance from Lewis & Lewis again. And avoid Qualitas too; from what I have now read they are not prompt at
resolving claims. I was told about Lewis & Lewis by some expats but I don't think anyone had filed a claim, which is when you discover how good
(or bad) your carrier is.

m kind of surprised that the Rio Vista office of Vagabundo isn't responding to this issue. I've bought insurance from them for years and years. But
never a claim. Now I'm questioning whether I want to go to them next time.?????? How does one contact Bajabound?

Good luck with your claims, and FYI for future policy consideration:- I bought my insurance from Discover Baja the past few years.
When I needed to use the policy following an accident in 2016, the DB people were great: called the company on my behalf, followed up on any
questions, and made sure all the information I submitted was received and processed.
My vehicle was OK, but I needed physical therapy for whiplash. I appreciate DB's help being reimbursed for the various medical expenses.

DB has an “any 90 days in a year” policy that is excellent if you don’t need the entire yearly policy. Good price and even includes the bail and
lawyer.
