Bahia Asuncion Yellowtail in February?

How is the fishing for yellowtail in Bahia Asuncion in February?

The website says YT fishing from July to February...

We wanted to get down last fall, but things fell through...and now have a window from Feb. 6 - Feb. 24.

Just wondering if it will be worth going or if we should wait...

Shari (the local expert) is probably out with the whale tours, so I will pipe in to say that the YT are here right now in La Bocana and we are a mere 1.5 hours south of B Asuncion. I don't fish myself and of course fish move around fast, but my guess is that they will be there next month.

Ross ? You out there to give your take?

I think this gentleman contacted me via Facebook. At least he was from Phoenix and was talking about the exact same dates. I guess I could respond here and give the complete opposite information that I passed to him via Facebook to complicate his decision making.

If no yellow tail, will certainly be other fish with yellowish tails!

I concur with the maybe scenario which is what the fishing here in Asuncion has been like all season...some great days and some crappy days but usually we have YT in February but not like it is in Oct-Dec.

Thanks to all for the responses!

Ross, did indeed write me back via FB with some excellent info. Thanks, Ross!

Sounds like February is a traditional month for YT...and a lot depends on water temps...which are good now, but could change at any moment...

Tight lines!
