...wots this?....RAIN in Loreto!?? <;~O....
...RAIN in Baja!! <;~O
Woke long before dawn, camped on the waterfront, just beyond Loreto airport.... feeling my customary boneaches I thought I left back home. Its a
special, quiet, different morning down here,, moonset, sunrise are blotted by cloudblanket, i feel drops of wetness on my balding head, is it heavy
dew?,,,or light rain? ,,,I wonder in the darkness.
.. A flashlight to my dusty windshield confirms my 'fears',,, indeed rain is falling in Baja!!!! In 8 or so times in Baja over the past thirty
something years, I can't recall -anything- resembling rain, except once in the northwest, approaching Tijuana one year. Global warming! Sky is
falling! . ...but seemingly finished within the hour,, except for those bone aches. <;~l
...As a long term sailor, and one who's close with the moon, I'm long accustomed to weather anomalies during fullmooon time.
...Its interesting to feel the shift within psyche, the environment within. The shift in weather , it brings a shift within me, into myself,
looking, accepting an inward movement, a slowing down from the excitement, the outward stimulation. Baja is always a very 'manifest' place for me,
always pulling me forwards, outwards,,,, but today I feel my age in this...'no country for old men',, and allow myself a shift, perhaps a graceful
move to accepting a slower path,,,, at least for today. <;~]
....9am,,and still precip falling... clearly raindrops on the water! <;~O
....feels like a good day to take a shift, head up to Bahia San Nicholas, for a couple days, see how my old campsite is doin .......

A thoughtful post that carries the essence of those meditative moments and subtleties of internal awareness that spawn in Baja....thank you for
conjuring up more Baja moments.
Those aches are just a reminder you are still alive
Don't believe everything you think....

...yaaahhh, you can run,, but never hide for long.
..Cafe Ole in Loreto now,, yummy -loaded- fish taco's,,,, how's that for a memory??
Off to San Nicholas for 2-3 daze,,, hadn't thunk how packing up boats with rain, and sand,,, makes everything sandy.... even the darn lip balm!

Light rain all morning here in Centenario (La Paz Area), nice for all the plants in my yard, plus showed me all the small leaks around my place.....
But why worry, it's now 2:20 PM and the sun is out now. The little leaks will dry up, but the palapa palms are leave some stain behind, should I get
up now and hose the affected area off, or wait for the next rain.....?

Yup. We were one of 'em! Went by your place today.
Watched lunar eclipse down in the south end of the bay, was quite a sight! Small Manta ray jumping off the starboard quarter.
And I think the moon that night, just before the eclipse, was the brightest I have ever seen. Morticia, of Munsters fame, would'a had a major
moonburn!

Last time we traveled in Baja, rain followed us all the way down to San Ignacio. A little disappointing since we're from the rainy Northwest! But
seeing Baja in green was really a treat. A different mood. Happy cacti.

.... yah, definitely 'gringo problems' compared to the NW!! <;~D
Thought I could wash rain from my vocabulary, trade it for... sharp things everywhere, a real pain for kiteboarding and inflatable kites!
My only real complaint about the rain was, in deciding to pack up the boats and move,, wet sand covered -EVERYTHING-!!!!
