La Paz in February 2018 (2) Balandra 1240 and friends

We started out our day going to Balandra with the owner of the apartments, Maru. We sat around and chatted for hours. She studied for 2 PhDs. She is working as a psychologist with some heavy duty cases. She has lived in Germany, France, USA and has gone to Brasil with her American husband numerous times. Mom is from Brasil so we are sharing stories!

Here is Mom getting ready to go on her daily walk.

From there we went for cappuccino at 1240, One of my favorite places to hang.

Then we went to visit Bajanomad Weebray and his wife. From there they took us to ESQUINA DEL CHEF restaurant, located on the corner of the back of the terminal on Calle Indepedencia. Every day has a special of 88 pesos which includes a choice of three dishes - today was spaghetti and meatballs or fish with cheese on it or chicken with a mushroom/mustard sauce. Soup starter and if you order in advance, they have a cheesecake dessert.

All for 88 pesos!

Chelo and her husband as well as her sister happened to be in town and leaving tomorrow, so we invited them to join the gang as well.

Lots of laughter. Great meal with great company.

Very nice photo Blanca. We enjoyed sharing lunch with you all. You bring sunshine in to many corners. Considering the gourmet quality of the food, their 85peso lunch may well make this place the best restaurant in La Paz.

The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much it is whether we provide enough for those who have little. Franklin D. Roosevelt

weebray- that is such a great quote. Thanks for the kind words and looking forward to some more get togethers!
