...recco's for nice, good price Motel near SJD?.... and central LaPaz

...What's a good place nearish to SJD airport, or directly in San Jose de Cabo..... then something near the malecon in LaPaz.

I like something 'nice' , meaning no bugs, and hopefully a view, but like to keep the bux in mind as well....any suggestions?

...thanks in advance! <;~}

Totally the opposite of most Baja places, and not on the malecon (5 min cab ride), but the Hyatt near Costa Baja can generally be had for $90 a night. Very nice rooms and free cooked to order breakfast/buffet. It's extra for the sea/marina view, but if you just ask nicely they'll give it to your for free.

I stayed at some small time hotel on the malecon by the Tail Hunter owned by local ppl that was quite a bit more, and total crap. Booked a 2 bedroom place with kitchen and sofa bed. Showed up with 4 ppl (2 kids), and the b#tch owner asked for an extra $30/night because I only typed 2 into hotels.com (which I always do everywhere w/o thinking). A/c didn't work and it was run down. I'll dig up the name in a bit so you can avoid that dump.

That's sounding gooder!
It's been a while...is it within a couple or 3 blocks from the malecon ?

It'd be great to see the trade off in rates between the malecon and not having view, as I suggested to the missus, we have free waterfront almost every night we camp!

...and what of San Jose del Cabo?

A few years back I was able to get a good deal on CheapCarribean.com for Dreams Los Cabos, an all-inclusive in the tourist corridor. The rate was so good that we skipped dinners at the resort and instead dined in downtown Cabo.

Yah, I've heard rates at AI's can be so good, the whole thing can be less than just airfare, for Cuba. Interesting.

I'll check out your suggestion, thanx!

...and air bnb,, of course! Good reminder!

Hyatt Place in San Jose del Cabo is very nice and they have a great all-inclusive buffet breakfast. It's not right on the water, so it costs considerably less than the mega resorts. There are still good ocean views from the rooms, especially if you get one that faces south. It's probably still under $100/night. The last time I stayed there was about a year ago. Your wife will like this one the best of the 3 I'm recommending.

If you want to be in El Centro in San Jose, the Tropicana is pretty good. No views, though. Not close to the beach.

I looked at the Posada Terranova that Harald recommended, and would stay there. It's in a good location if you're wanting to be in El Centro. Price is good. No frills.
