Photograph wanted
For a period in the mid-1980s ('85 or' 86?) the Laguna Salada had water nearly to both sides of the roadway crossing it - most of that nine or ten
mile section we cross heading south from Mexicali. We crossed it twice and it was pretty amazing - all that water. So amazing in fact that we
neglected to get a photo or two of the event.
We are looking for one or two images of that.
I would like a higher resolution image and will U2U you if you post and maybe you could get it to me via email.

People from Mexicali would drive south to go fishing along Highway 5. It was quite an event... for some time! During those years, I was zipping south
with the wife and dog to camp on Shell Island, and never took a photo of the lower Laguna Salada. If I come across anything, I will add it.

I have a VHS videotape of Rod Hall racing in the Baja 1000 down Hwy 5 in the area between KM70+ to KM87 and it shows water on both sides. I have it
labeled as 1980 Baja 1000. I recorded it off ESPN in the late 80s. I'd have to watch it to be sure of the date.

joe walsh's excellent instrumental "Laguna Salada" would be a perfect soundtrack for a desert racing film!
