Is it ok to kayak fish in Magdalena bay during whale season?

I know this is probably a dumb question and I think I have heard the answer somewhere before but I just cant remember what the deal is.
I would like to beach camp in a place I can launch my kayak if anyone knows a spot.
Thanks

The mangroves are likely open for paddling/fishing.

30 years ago, during a stormy El Niño year, we launched a canoe from the old fish processing plant in Lopez Mateos and paddled around, but I suspect that's no longer allowed.

...been ~5 years, but there's some good camping just ~1\4mi north of the whaler's parking lot, near the mangroves. Avoid it if the tides are hitting a high cycle or your feet will be wet! ...otherwise a good place.

...planning to git there tomorrow afternoon myself, kayak at the ready. <;~)

How are the bugs when you are camping near the mangroves? I have gotten torn up a couple of times when I have tried that in a couple of other places!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

The limit is 1 whale per person per day.
If you fish from a kayak you need a license. Shore fishing no license required!
Bring a really big cooler, a whale is a lot of meat! Or if feeling generous, donate the extra meat to a local orphanage or dog-rescue group!

Woke!

“...ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.” “My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.”

Prefered gender pronoun: the royal we
