Camping Toilets
On another thread it was brought up about camping toilets and enclosures. A few years ago I put together a portable toilet seat that I think works
really good for us older folks, at least I'm happy. My wife had a walker without wheels that she did not use so I purchased a toilet seat at Home
Depot along with a section of 3/4 inch thin wall electric conduit and rubber feet. I cut the conduit to fit across the walker and attached the seat to
it. The rubber feet were to keep it from scratching anything it came in contact with. I pack the seat away in it's original box. Everything folds up
nice and tidy for travel. I never did make a toilet paper holder, but what the heck.
As for an enclosure I purchased an Ozark Trails unit from some camping supply company, I don't remember who, but have never used it.

re rubber feet. I got an education recently. I had an older Weber Kettle which went on some camp trips to the desert. I cut the legs half off to make
it smaller. I went to Rite Aid to get the rubber feet which were for walkers and canes and cost 12$ for four. I went to Home Depot and purchased the
exact same thing for bar stools: $3.50.

SWEET setup ( If sweet can still be used when describing such a thing)?
I am "cramped" for space so my method for displacement of said waste is a little more basic.
I use a 5 gal. bucket with a tall kitchen trash bag lining it, of which you probably use as well .
For comfort I line the top lip of the bucket with foam pipe insulation. Works quite well.
Bucket is duel purpose as I put non-food stuffs in it while traveling. and
use for water to put the camp fire completely out .
If and when I ever get extra room I'll make one like yours. NICE JOB !

Lots easier to take an old redwood slat lawn chair.
Remove all the middle slats and bolt on your seat.
Folds up nice and easy, not like the bulky one in your photo
Sorry I don't have a pic,
we left our old one beside the road in El Rosario last year,
Making a new one soon, will post pix

Keep active and flexible and avoid weight gain, and you’ll be able to deep-squat like the human body is designed to do.
While you’re at it try bending over with a straight back and hip pivot, instead of bending you spine when bending over - your back will enjoy a
longer healthier life

reminds me of a morning walk some years ago
so, I went out with a roll of toilet paper under my arm
it was in the Cañon El Palomar area in January and quite cold
found a spot with a view and some early rays hitting my back
nice!
pants down and waiting action my eyes accidentally went to the right of
maybe 3 feet away from my bare a** was a curled up rattler
chit! What do I do?
moving up risking to wake her up in the process and get bitten?
nope
so I used the roll of toilet paper and pinned her head down
grabbed her in the neck and flung her away
then went back to business while enjoying the view
bottom line - be careful where you squat

My mom is certainly the best example of this. She is so spry at 84 that when I took her to the doc in La Paz and he asked how old she was, we said
84.
74? he replied.
84. we answered. and his eyebrows shot up.
Mom walks every day for an hour. When it is warm enough in San Diego, she does aquasize. And she cleans cleans cleans around the house.....to keep
active, she says. I love when she visits because the hotel shines afterwards. It is clean but she makes it positively shine!

I don't travel to Baja with it, but for beach accommodations at my
favorite fishing spot in AK, I bring a port-a-pot with blue anti-stink fluid, and an ice fishing tent.
The tent is light weight, is square with enough headroom to sit comfortably! there is no floor, but it has flaps around the bottom that can be
weighted down with sand, snow, or whatever is available.
I don't use it much, but other campers find the privacy and weather protection useful.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

The setup in photo 2 is the equivalent to the high-rise toilet seats that positions over a regular toilet. Got my mom one for $3 at the thrift store.
I see them all the time - some have the container just below the seat.
