I think this is a wonderful idea...and I was trying to think of other ideas to help the grandpa's pass their days even happier

cards? do you think they would like cards to play with or nahhh?

puzzles? I wonder if they might enjoy putting a puzzle together? I have a couple I would happily donate.

Are they in the California or Mexico? How about growing some tasty buds?

Penny can tell it better than I. Just north of San Quintin is a home for old guys, they help each other get by. Juan oversees their care and does a great job. They always can use something.

hola MMc,

now knowing these older gentlemen were able to work on a garden and probably on a minimal basis, what a unbelievable fantastic idea of sending seeds.

perhaps a bit of help might be needed. what kind of seeds would work in their area ? any advice from folks would appreciated.

may i suggest that the seeds are kept in plastic or glass containers as if there are rodent problems, it would protect the seeds. the seeds that i kept in my garage made good forage for the mice.

i would be more than agreeable to sending someone seeds for these folks to grow. i would need advice throughout the year as to what seeds to send and to whom.

ABSOLUTE GENIUS !!!!!

thank you,

BIEN SALUD, DA RAT

I've had seeds confiscated at the border so put them in with the dirty socks.

Technically seeds are considered a "Regulated Import" and you need a permit to import into Mexico.

I am not that familiar with what is around there, but I would bet that one or two of the grandpas would love a trip to the closest nursery, or seed store to pick out what they want.

Perhaps someone staying near there, or passing through can offer them a 'day trip' to stock up! I drive highway five, or I would give it a shot on the way north.

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Thanks, I'll take into consideration.
It's a long away from town, a trip would be a day trip, I think.

The soil looks a little tuff, they should compost and look for some manure. When eating your watermelon, tomatoes, cantaloupe ect save the seeds for next year. Stating my garden this week going to try hydroponics, no! not for pot for my herbs:light:
