malcolm smith

http://a.msn.com/08/en-us/AAvGjth?ocid=se

Tried to paste the link for a great story from MSN
"The man who changed motorcycling"

You have to scroll thru all 8 photos to read the story. Unbelievable man, grew up in the same neighborhood with Malcolm and he actually had dinner at our home a few times. (he has been to Baja a few times)

Hope the link comes thru okay.

The link was fine, thank you for sharing! Many of us first 'met' him watching the movie On Any Sunday... racing across Laguna Chapala!

Very cool, I've run into him several times over the years in Baja. Always very friendly and talkative... What an Icon! On another note, OP are you from Guillermo in BOLA?

He also has an autobiography that is really great. Gives a lot of insight to how he grew up and you can see that he was "hard wired" to ride motorcycles.

Maybe I'm missed something. Did Malcolm pass.
My greatest passion is probably still dirt bike riding. Outdoor motocross to be exact.
Malcolm is/was a big part of who I am.

He certainly has been a great inspiration to many off road motorcycle riders and racers over the years. I think I've watched "On Any Sunday" a hundred times. I have his autobiography and maybe one of these days I'll get him to sign it.

I want to watch it right now. It's like "comfort food" for my tired soul.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Malcom and his wife when they stayed at the Bufadora Inn last winter while I was minding the Inn. They were travelling by Razor type rigs with another couple.

I asked him how he liked the Polaris....he said, "I thought I would hate it....but after 20 minutes I loved it....can still steer with the back wheels."

A gentle soul and an inspiration to thousands.
