Planing a Solo motorcycle trip
Hello to all.
I’m planning a solo motorcycle trip. To Guadalajara Jal.
Riding through Baja. And taking the Ferry in La Paz.
To Mazatlan. Only 1 concern gasoline availability from
el Rosario to Guerrero Negro. And from Loreto to La Paz.
I have researched this subject but no info. That I can use.
Thank you every one in advance for your help. No date yet.

Gas from barrels in Catavina, turn to BdeLA and Pta Prieta. Pemex in Jesus Maria.

Like Woody said, gas from locals in Catavina. Also gas at Bay of LA junction. Is about 205 miles El Rosario to Jesus Maria. A new gas station will
be on line in Catavina soon (Mexico time!)
Plenty of gas stations Constitution and south, no worries.

There is a Pemex at Las Polcitas at Km.112, between Constitucion [Km. 210] and the La Paz area's first [Pemex Km. 17].

Make sure your medical insurance is good. Also, figure out beforehand how you will be flown out to a decent hospital.

Ok so it’s not really a motorcycle it’s a maxi scooter a 650 Suzuki burgman. But it goes 100 mph or more. Without a problem. I wouldn’t ride it
that fast but I know it has lots of power if I need it. And as for the insurance I’m on Medicare so ” Dios dira” It’s like a bucket list wish.
Kind of deal. Also I ride to Rosarito about ones a month or Tj and I don’t consider myself an expert but I figured if I can do it here by the border
I should be able to do it down by Gdl. Totally aware of the difference in
Traffic bulk but like I said my spirit it’s crying for leaving.

That Burgman is a great machine. Just watch out for the potholes!

650 Burgs are good for 150 miles or more, should be no problema.
Like Kurt said above, pay attention for potholes, especially in north baja.
You are at a slight disadvantage with smaller wheels/tires, but way ahead of some travellers I've seen down there on Vespas and the like!

My burgman is a 2007 it says I get 40 miles per gallon. And the tank holds 4 gallons.

I would ride the crap out of that any where in Baja! 40 MPG is good but you want to know the total on a tank!

Please see the Bajabound story before you consider riding that thing in Baja.
I suppose it would be good around town.
Your are better off with a street legal dirt bike.
You know, a real motorcycle. 21 inch front wheel, 18-19 inch rear. It's a proven formula.
Those tiny wheels are stupid for Baja.
Make sure you have a good helmet. Write your emergency info in permanent black marker everywhere so they will know who to call.
But have fun until then.

Between Loreto and La Paz, there are Pemex stations in Ciudad Insurgentes, Ciudad Constitucion, and Las Pocitas.

The scooter might not be the optimum mode of travel but it most certainly can be done. And I might say have a LOT of FUN in the process...
Heck, Hienz Stucker now rides a Brompton fold up bike with 20" wheels and he left home 50+ years ago.

The small wheels danger when you hit pot hole. Your choice to ride real slow to not hit one. would not be fun for me.

You are getting comments from those who have probably never been on one of the new breed of "mega-scooters." They are very capable machines and will
handle paved Mexican roads as well as any other and like any other require watching for rough or potholed pavement. I like them a lot and as I get
further into my 70's they may keep me on 2 wheels, very easy and pleasant to ride. I've ridden both the 400 and 650 Burgman as well as comparable
Honda and Yamaha machines and know riders who regularly tour on them. Sort of mini Gold Wings. As to range, my GSX1100g has about the same range and
I never have had a problem. I fill up in El Rosario and then top off from the vendors either in Catavina or at the Bahia de Los Angeles turnoff.
