2018 Norra 1000

Race starts today in Ensenada and will end here in San Felipe for the first stage. Party at Lynn and Amy Chenowth's this afternoon. Lynn is the Grand Marshall this year. We will watch the racers pass tomorrow on their way to Bay of LA.

I'm rooting for the Porsche's to make it with less tow outs this time. Like their chase truck too.

I've seen a few adventure style bike mods to Sportys, look good, but damn heavy bikes. Surprisingly top heavy engines, I have one. Does not take much to make her want to go horizontal.

When I was working at Fort Huachuaca , I bought a Cagiva "Elefant"..A V twin dirty bike...The sound sold me! I don't know how heavy it was, but it went a million in the desert, and tried to kill me in the sand...I loved it! Then sumpin broke in the tranny, after a LOT of hard use...The part turned out be made of pure 100% unobtainium...it went to the Border Boneyard....We held a wake at the officers club...tears were shed...:(
