Big party at the marina here

Costa Palmas hosted a BIG party the last couple of days/nights. Lots of Hollywood celebs, fireworks last night. Security was tighter than the White House but I'm hoping they let the Gringo Gazette in and we can read all about it in the next edition. Special police and military were there, called in from La Paz and Los Cabos.

Their predecessors threw lavish Roman Spectacles with famous rock bands and outlandish banquettes.

All these developers down here have a knack for publicity, for Look, see pigeon, to Make a Show as they say in China.

I hope it will be good for the village. The little town is growing because of the project but slowly --- the famous restaurant Michoacana has opened one here but only on the weekends. If you search for Amanavari resort you can see the dreams they are trying to sell to the rich and famous.

Osprey, good to see ya! I’m headed south in 2.75 weeks and looking forward to reading your short stories under my favorite beach side Salt Pine tree.

I did a Bing search for Amanavari resort, and all I found was your post on Baja Nomad!

I'd LOVE to buy a piece of a ten-year-long construction project in a floodplain for a cool $5 million (USD, not pesos)!

What could possibly go wrong?

Obviously in celebration of earth day. Probably didn't even use plastic straws.

The website is a bunch of the oft used eco/tranquil /but luxury/ babble now so common for new developments trying to appeal to a supposedly more conscious guest.
I wonder how all the guests will feel say about mid Janaury when the northerlies are howling about 30 mph and the facial you will get will be being sandblasted when you try to take a nice, soothing walk on the beach...

I wonder if this is in addition to the 4 seasons or if the 4 seasons morfed into this.

They built an Aman resort near Lake Powell in Southern Utah and everyone (myself included) said there was no way a resort like that could work because, with no airport nearby, the Richie Riches would never do that 5 hour drive across the desert on the county 2 lane roads we have down there. Well, 10 years later its still going so they must have something figured out. I hope it works out in Baja as well.

Soooo negative! It's common knowledge that every beautiful beach in the world needs a few 15 story two hundred million dollar eco friendly condos on it. Get with the program.
