The comparison to Harald's leg injury (4x4abc) is pretty amazing (La Paz area German, docs wanted to amputate, loves dogs, etc.).

Thank you for your helping this person. I knew it wasn't Harald as he wasn't a scuba instructor (I don't think) but a 4WD (doble tración) tour guide

yes, I am in the same boat. Life sucks sometimes.
Thanks to donations from my friends around the world I was able to pay the greedy doctors in La Paz and my leg was saved. For now.
Thank you especially to some generous donations from board members of Baja Nomad.
4 surgeries and 10 months later I am still not walking. Meaning no income. A guide who can't walk is not a good guide.
So, I am in the process of reinventing myself. Will have to do something that agrees with my wheelchair.
Now, please go help that other poor fellow. Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.

No schite! who would ever say that is ignorant. Normal yearly salary for a internal medical doc here is about 50K USD a year. Not that the doc he is
seeing is IM but still. Thats less than a plumber makes in other countries. Geeesh, get a clue before opening up your keyboard.

Obviously, I don't know anything about your German, Maria, but shouldn't he really go to Germany? If we got enough money for a ticket and he got
stabilized enough to travel, is this something he would do?
Harald, are German's eligible for free medical care in Germnay?

a German is covered for health issues as long as he/she is part of the system. Meaning working, retired, unemployed (but has been working recently
before). Expats like me and the gentleman in question are not covered by the social system, unless he/she continued to pay a private insurance
carrier.
Even if the gentleman were covered in Germany it would not make much sense to move to Germany to continue treatment - it seems that he is in good
hands.
His hardship stems from the chain of unfortunate events starting with his pulmonary embolism and a very expensive hospital and losing his ability to
work. They are out of money and need help.

It's hard to believe that with such a sad situation that that poor Man has found himself in that the first "help fund me" didn't get any contributions
?
Maybe it's a case of herd mentality as no one wants to be the "only one" or first. So now that there are a few contributors hopefully many more will
jump on the bandwagon, so to speak.
Most people don't realize just HOW FAST life can change...

The MOST pressing concern was he was going to have his electricity shut off and now with your generous help that has been solved for the moment.
Every bit no matter how small helps Tremendously when you are broke.

I think the problem of no one donating may be that no one on here knows him. When first posted I was waiting for Harald or Karl to comment especially
since both are German and may have known him.
I hope he gets better and that more donations come in.
