Entry date on FMM
I completed and paid for my FMM online recently and it has us entering Mexico on 5/29/18. Unfortunately, we're going to have to delay our trip until
late-June or early-July. Does the date on the form matter? If so, I guess I'll need to redo them and pay a second time.

Just remember after printing your FMM form, it must be stamped by INM within 30 days to be valid.
Looks like you will have to enter on or before 6 / 28 / 2018...

Must be stamped within 30 days, got it. Think I’m going to be cutting it close. Sucks I may have to pay again but not much I can do.

Next time, just get it at the border... it takes maybe a few extra minutes to pay the guy (Mexicali) or the teller right there (Tijuana) since you
need to go in there even with a pre-paid one, to validate it.

What in the world is buying an fmm online saving?
Nada, no one can put up any legit reason for getting one online,
putting in play the the hassle of an omitted middle name, date changed,
making it invalid. Went thru Mexicali West last week, guy even
filled it out for me, I was the only person in the Imm office

Nada, no one can put up any legit reason for getting one online,
putting in play the the hassle of an omitted middle name, date changed,

here's a legit reason...recently here someone reported (at mexicali I believe) that agents WERE NOT offering FMM's for 180 days but a shorter
period.....a good reason for the online model.

I'm with Discover Baja travel club, we did it cause we cross at TJ all the time, it can become a bit of a buzzard f^k there 10am - 12, which is our
leasurley crossing time from SD. Although we are rarely in any kind of a rush, it always feels good to get past Ensenada on the first day ( nothing
against Ensenada ) I was not aware of any FMM's for less than 180 days, I will be on the lookout for that, I've never been given a FMM for less.
Anyway, to each there own, some people have different comfort levels in Baja

You just tell him before he begins writing on your form, '180 days, please'.
One time, back in 2001 (?) he wrote in 90 days and I asked him I wanted 180 (it's the same amount of money, after all)... and he scribbled out the 90
and wrote in 180!
Yes, there is even a shorter one, 7 days and it is free.

Lately many airlines are not being supplied FMMs from the Mexican Gov.So instead of filling out upon arrival you have one ahead of time..
Another reason is a time saver when I drive through Nogales, It is all filled out and paid for when I enter INM, they check my passport and stamp /
validate the FMM & I'm off to Aduana for my TIP......It saves 15 to 20 min. at the KM21 checkpoint,,,,,,,

We belong to Vegabundos del Mar and always get all our paperwork from them - FMM, fishing license and auto insurance. I get a little flustered by the
border experience and don't want to have to deal with any more requirements that I have to. Having my FMM and receipt ready to go is easier on my
poor old lady brain.

Yes, that is a valid reason...
But, what about the money you lose if you had an issue and couldn't get to the border when you stated on the form you would... or had to cross at
another border crossing point?
Either the INM officer or a teller in the same building very near can take the money for the FMM. It is hardly any more time than stopping there to
just get the guy to stamp your pre-paid FMM... that's the issue of this thread from bga23.
As Sancho said, Mexicali is real fast as the same guy who stamps the FMM is the one who takes the money for it.
Mexicali to Baja Sur is far faster and less stressful than traffic from Tijuana to San Quintin, too! It is just the 20 unpaved miles south of Gonzaga
Bay some here can't do (big motorhomes or travel trailers).

Back in the fmt free days, 90 days was typical, 180 days
was often reserved for sailors. I would go over the border Imm
guys a bit, by getting 180 approved by the Mex
consulate in
SD, the Mex Imm guys would be slightly perturbed

Would' t even think of it,
Way too many 'what if''s in that system for me, I'm so
old school anyway, face to face peso transaction is fine,
chances of me using a credit card anywhere is nil,
the convenience factor people seek is not for me
