Just ask 'Shari' here on Nomad or email or call her. Her husband Juan is excellent and a native AsunciĆ³nian!

I can highly recommend Juan as I have gone out with him on his Ponga , Juan and his deck hand are totally knowledgeable, professional and just GREAT guy's to go fishing with ......

As a side note Sheri's y Juan's La Buffadora Inn is a sweet place to stay.

We'll stop by the Inn to meet Shari for sure. I hope the fishing is decent at the end of July, we have some friends coming down for a week then.

Gracias Paco....here you are with a nice calico!

Rates for pangas in Asuncion are around $200-$300 depending on the target species and how many anglers.

We have a superpanga and all the permits and insurance and Juan speaks great English too.

Fishing in July is spotty as our season doesnt really kick into gear usually until Sept and the best season here is Oct-Dec and yellowtail are here till February. Hopefully there will be some around in July.

There is a fun tournament put on by the fishing cooperative where the funds raised go to the University scholarships for the local kids. It is a fun event and everyone there gets fed from the fish they bring in and barbecue as well as we are served seafood c-cktails and ceviche provided by the coop. Here is the 2017 winner Tomas Arce

Here are some gentlemen at the tournament last July

We look forward to having you around Drzura!

I was lucky enough to be there during last years tournament and it was a hoot.

As far as pricing, don't worry about the range as Juan is completely honest and will work HARD to get you in the fish.
Whatever the cost is, it will be fair.

Ditto on going out with Juan. The price and flexibility were spot on. The barbecue after was very delicious.

aquachico,

You reminded me that often , at c-cktail hour, Sheri prepares the day's catch in various ( and always ) delicious ways.
It depends on what's has been caught ...

Sashimi and seared yellowtail w/ soy sauce & wasabi comes to mind.

Eating, drinking & bullchittin with one of the best views around is one of the best way's to really enjoy life...

TRUTH!

It was grand (however) when one of my guests (who was an executive chef at a Four Seasons Hotel) prepared the meal for Shari (and the rest of us who were at La Bufadora Inn)!!!

Shari shows off here "extra happy" face at the feast fixed by Chef Jesse!

Shari took this photo so I could get in it. Thanks Shari!
