Speaking of engine failures,

isn't that prop supposed to be spinning?

Actually nothing very exciting Bruce

I was just practicing simulated engine failures in my Baron (with an instructor in the right seat) and had a camera handy. I have had a lot of fun with that photo telling false war stories about it but that's the truth.

an exciting day at the Serinadad strip...

this is but one of many, many accidents at the Serinadad strip. This plane clipped the top of the pickup (see the damage to both plane & pickup). One of our curious, but careless American residents went driving out onto the landing strip without looking for approaching aircraft...boom, crash. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. The pickup driver is still here, but a little more cautious! Known affectionately as Ranger Roy.

Whoops...speaking of propellor spin...where is it?

this is a great place to fly gliders...northern border of North Dakota and Manitoba, Canada at the base of the Turtle Mountains. You can fly forever...but where the heck did that prop go?

more no-prop flying...

when you want to glide and are looking for something different, try this...

Get a hang glider, about 1500ft. of strong line, a pulley/reel with motorized re-winder, a trailer, a pull vehicle..and a wide-open countryside! Start out down the deserted road, get up to take-off speed, let out the line steadily, reach 800-1000 elevation and let 'er rip!

We had a lot of fun doing this and you get to soar with the eagles up there...literally.
