Carmiceria in Guerrero Negro or Vizcaino
Looking to see if any of you nomads have any intel on a carniceria in Guerrero Negro or Vizcaino that sells good steaks and pork chops.... we made the
mistake of not bringing said items from COSTCO back in the states. Thanks...

You can have the butcher at the market Sotres cut what you want. My neighbor get his t-bones there. But most beef in Mexico is not aged, even if a
quality cut.

Local meat its not that good, maybe in Vizcaino, but im not sure.
good news is now you can buy from SuKarne in GN in front of the gas station on the curve, and at the Sedena store they have some packed cuts, and i've
seen some packaged meat from "El 17" ranch from Sonora in some places.
You can also try Mercado Sonora, but i´ll think twice about buying their meat after watching the poor handling of products there.

Ranch El 17 ( http://www.ranchoel17.com/ ) are OK. I buy them in Mexicali sometimes. But again, many people will not like the taste and texture as the meat
is not aged.

Mercado Sonora has a fantastic meat counter as well frozen packaged meat like Costco....very good selection. It used to be just a butcher shop with
meat from Sonora and now it is the best grocery store in our area. It is up a few blocks off the main drag...turn up before the Casino. They also sell
Kirkland brand stuff too. Get a kilo of natural sea salt from the salt works while you are at it...suuuuper cheap and gourmet.

Funny Story:
I was shopping in the Co-Op in Bahia Asuncion a while back and saw some beef ribs in a plastic tub in the cooler....some of the meat was from an
unrecognizable cut, but the rib bones identified what was going to be dinner....and I picked two bags of "ribs".
When paying at the checkout, the clerk said something to the local guy in front of me who was finishing paying for his groceries....the guy looked at
me with an expression of acknowledgement. picked up my bags of ribs, stuck his nose in the bag and gave a sniff or two in each bag. He looked at the
clerk and nodded his approval, then gave me a smile and nod okaying my selection.
I paid for my soon-to-be ribfest and left smiling....I love such a high-tech quality/control approval system....
Ribs were good with a garlic-pineapple-tamari marinade done on the Webber I got at Vizcaino Segunda....but that is a different story ...
