San Luis Gonzaga
Hello everybody. A group of six families are going to San Luis Gonzaga and are deciding between staying at Punta Bufeo Hotel or El Sacrificio.
Any tips or recommendations on either?

I can't help with a recommendation, my dog and I are low budget car campers. Those who could give you an accurate opinion should know when you plan
to make the trip. Things change a lot during off road race events, and during US and Mexican holidays!

Gonzaga accomodations
Personally I happen to like El Sacrificio. Rooms are spartan, but they do have a hot shower and a flush toilet. They have a special going on until
the end of August for $50.0 per night. Go to their Facebook site and make a reservation. They book up pretty easy. Air con at night and early morn.
However, you need to let them know you are coming for the air con. Quien sabe? If you have a boat they will launch for you. Charter available as well.
Security has been good. Have a good time.

August can be super hot....110F+...and mucho humido which makes that a lot worse. To survive you will need a sea...east...breeze and you will get
baked in a west wind which comes up most afternoons around 1500. I don't think any of the places on the south beach get a sea breeze as good as Afi's
does which faces east....but I have not been there in the hot months.
I'd put off the trip until about 10-1 and then stay at Rancho Grande which faces east.

Yah, these places don't have many rooms... six families? Camping would be the thing to do. Kids love tents. Stay at Beluga, maybe rent their 2 level
cabins as a base for kitchen and bathroom and ?? and put tents out front? I didn't get any photos of the cabins there.

I believe they have enough rooms at Rancho Grande with kitchens if you reserve in advance.

Thanks, Blanca, I do try and show as many of the sites as I can while I am down there... I find it more fulfilling if I can share my trips with others
rather than just make me happy inside.
The trip reports I did last year cover a large part of the peninsula that many here may want to visit. A photo and some road details really help folks
decide if that is something they can do or want to see more of.
All these photos have been posted before in the trip reports forums, but new Nomads might not know the resources here so it may be valuable to show a
sampling in their question threads.
