Jimmy Smith interviewed by Camote?

Hi, long time since I have visited Nomads...
Anyway, I am looking for the 2 part interview of Jimmy Smith by Camote, maybe 14 years ago. I thought it might be in Nomad archive, but haven't had luck with my search. Anyone out there remember this? David Kier, Doug? Much appreciated!

Yes... let me try to dig it up, I think Mike (El Camote) put it on YouTube or some other hosting site.

I just used Nomad search, typed in "Jimmy" posted by El Camote... bingo!

It was a fun day... once it stopped raining, May 2003:

Harry Crosby meets Jimmy Smith, Pyramid Resort

Jimmy Smith and Skeet (from Loreto and Texas).

Here is the Part 2 direct link... but yes, you probably need better than dial-up to watch videos: https://youtu.be/O3shZbcOO8M

Let me know any other way I can help... Your dad was super... and loved to talk about books and Baja history with me. He loved showing me the Real de Santa Ana... I got the idea it had become his favorite place to connect with the past. I returned in 2012... almost identical.

Thanks David. I will try again when my access is a little faster.
I am in Asuncion with a friend and we were talking about Bahia Los Angeles, and my Dad's phenomenal ability to spin a tale, and Camote's video is an excellent capture of a Don Jimmy story. Classical, just how I remember him.

Eli, good to see you on the interwebs. I only spent an hour with Don Jimmy talking story (mostly listening :-) but that was enough to help bring his stories, I had enjoyed so much in print, to life. I have given many copies of his book to friends and family and still have my signed copy in the family library. Hope all is well with you and that some day again we cross paths.

Thanks for posting, what great stories! I love listening to the old timers talk, I was always taught to listen and not talk around men like that!
