It’s been on the 150 hour chart for a week now. Something is expected but it hasn’t spun up for a week. Look out below!

this has been the oddest September I have seen in 30 years here...with afternoon winds of over 20 knots every day and coolish air temps as a result of cool water temps which have barely rose above 70! and of course absolutely no hurricane activity..weird but I'll take it!

Not quit gone yet I beleive this may be one to keep an eye on but it is very early yet.

A large area of disturbed weather centered several hundred miles
south of the southern coast of Mexico is associated with a trough
of low pressure. This system is gradually becoming better
organized, and environmental conditions appear conducive for
further development. A tropical depression is likely to form by
Tuesday while the system moves generally west-northwestward at about
10 mph. Interests in Baja California Sur should monitor the
progress of this disturbance.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.

You are so right about the hurricane activity but I'll never tire of arroyos full of liquid sunshine sin the destructive winds.

Hard to tell this far out, but worth keeping an eye on for sure. That windy model is the European one. The other one (GFS) doesn't show anything quite so dramatic. We look at them both and try to sort of average them together!

Quite a thunder and lightening show overnight here last night, but it all stayed out to sea.

Here's the latest from eebmike.com

A broad and elongated area of low pressure located a few hundred
miles south of the southern tip of the Baja California
peninsula continues to produce widespread but disorganized showers
and thunderstorms. Although environmental conditions appear
conducive for tropical cyclone formation, the large size of the
system suggests that any development should be slow to occur. This
system will likely become a tropical depression later this week
while it moves generally northward at about 10 mph. Interests in
Baja California Sur should monitor the progress of this disturbance.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent.

Again, I think this is worth keeping an eye on.

In Loreto it was supposed to be a sunny day with light winds until noon.

Woke up to very cloudy skies and what I would estimate winds of around 10-12 MPH with gusts to 20-25.

Hope the Dorado understand that I still plan to hunt them down and eat them later this week. They get a stay of execution for a few more days. :biggrin:

Bob, you'll get it for sure :)... Windy says that Mulege will get their punishment beginning from Wednesday early morning, possibly until Thursday. 2 days out the accuracy is ~12 hours, give or take.

Tropical Weather OutlookNWS National Hurricane Center Miami FLIssued by the NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD1100 AM PDT Mon Sep 17 2018For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:1. An elongated area of low pressure was located about 250 milessouth of the southern tip of Baja California, producingdisorganized clusters of showers and thunderstorms. Environmentalconditions appear conducive for tropical cyclone formation, althoughthe broad nature of the system and potential interaction withland as it moves northward may hamper development. This systemcould become a tropical depression on Wednesday or Thursday as itapproaches Baja California Sur. Regardless of development, thissystem will likely produce very heavy rainfall over Baja CaliforniaSur and other parts of northwestern Mexico later this week.* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...40 percent.* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...60 percent.Forecast Burke/Blake

We been getting mucho Lluvia for 3 days here around Los Barriles/Buena Vista which fortunately is without much wind; grateful for some good rain without the storm! and AMAZING that thus far we've kept the electricity! :D:D
