It says in this article below that he was “He was last seen in Rosarito in bad condition on September 8th soaking wet in clothes, barefoot and scared,” wrote Sara Ferber, a Cardiff-based photographer, on Instagram. “The person who saw him has known him for a few years. Said it was bad then he ran off.”

According to reports, he may have been driving his father’s car, a silver 2001 Volvo station wagon, plate number 4VZK300.

Could be. Or:

Sounds like psychological illness and he needs help.

his family has made it clear he has some issues......judging from this Teahupoo clip and fending off a shark attack I can't believe anything at Baja Malibu or anywhere else would scare him, this man's the real deal and needs help. Slater's down here looking for him. call home!

That's sad. From TalkBaja:

"My brother has been confirmed dead. We just ID’d his body. Its very sad, scary and confusing. He was a respected surfer, loved son, brother and friend. He was also a father. He struggled with mental illness. We did our best to get him help. Life is not always easy, people struggle with themselves and you never know exactly what they’re going through. We appreciate you respecting our family. Thank you"
