Tonight in Secondary
Things got real interesting as my wife and I passed the yellow cones. The CBP radiation alarm went off and a swarm of BP officers surrounded us
within seconds. My wife had received radiation treatment for her overactive Thyroid about 3 weeks ago, and it appears that the alarms will notice
these treatments for the next 3 to 6 months. Fun!

Did you figure out that that was the issue right away?

The yellow pipes are the radiation detectors......and you should be able to get a letter from your/her doctor that might assuage the CBP people

I had joked about the alarm sounding a few minutes before we were surrounded. We have paperwork from the hospital in case this sort of thing was to
happen.

Iodine 131 treatment. I-131 has a 1/2 life of 8 days. It's essentially gone after 7 half-lives, 56 days, but never totally. It's a fission product and
can be made in reactors, not naturally available, and easily spotted by gamma-ray radiation detectors.

I had the same thing happen 11 years ago on my first cardiac stress test with an isotope involvement at a border patrol checkpoint just north of Las
Cruces NM. I was told to park, and was put in their holding cell (reserved for illegals). Even though I had the 'card' given by the doctor it still
took 'em 45 minutes to finally clear me and let me go. A very frustrating experience to say the least. Since then after a few more tests their
policies have softened some, as long as you have the 'get out of jail free' paperwork with and available at the initial inspection, but the detectors
still work.
I don't have a BUCKET LIST, but I do have a F***- IT LIST a mile long!

A similar event for me. I learned that washing your hands in the morning at a hotel, then flying out of DEN where they swabbed everyone down for
explosives, would give a false positive. Apparently the glycerine in the soap looked like explosive residue to their sniffers. I went thru FULL
secondary.

Washing your hands with glycerine soap makes one test positive?
I also learned something new today.

Gunpowder and explosives contain nitro-glycerine.
Looks like the "sniffers" are keying in on the glycerine part of the nitro-glycerine.

Sniffers
3 friends and myself were headed south on I-8 and as we entered the border check point the officer stopped us and replied OK who is it one of my
friends flashed his card and off we went. He is a 12 year survivor from a Heart Transplant.

Just some questions for clarity:
South on I-8?
Mexican border check?
Flashed what card?
