The Federal Police report that, after the arrival of the Rosa weather phenomenon, staff of the sub-station performs security and surveillance tours on
the jurisdiction of it, monitoring the via San Felipe-Puertecitos, which presents the following effects:
➖Km 032 + 100 debris on the via
➖Km 035 + 000 collapsed partial lane with direction to puertecitos and debris on the via
➖Km 037 + 100 fork asphalt tape base
➖Km 038 + 000 collapsed partial lane with direction to san felipe
➖Km 039 + 600 collapsed partial lane with direction to san felipe
➖Km 040 + 800 collapsed partial lane with direction to san felipe
➖Km 042 + 300 collapsed total of the way
➖Km 043 + 060 collapsed total of the way
➖Km 043 + 600 collapsed total of the via
With partially cloudy sky, finding the passable road only for double-Traction Vehicles (4 x4)

It looks odd, the front would be more torn up and the fenders pushed back into the doors if they had hit with any force.  What a bummer.

Maybe they were going slow over the flooded portion of the road (with the culvert underneath) and it all collapsed with them on top.
Wash outs in Baja? Why, I can't believe it! :-) Its been this way for the 40 years or so I've been down there. What is the surprise? Loose fill dirt,
2 inches of asphalt and you have a road bed. Now would I want to be building the roads down there No Way! But I have great respect for those workers
who go way out in the middle of no where, in the hot summer and build roads. It would be a tough job that none of us here on BN would ever do. Not one
of us.
It might be a good BN idea to carry extra ice and drinks and stop and give it away to the road workers as we pass through. What do all you think? Foam
ice chests are cheap. Carry a few extra, stocked with drinks and ice.

As to skid marks anti-lock brakes don't lock up until at a slow speed.

We got out of Gonzaga Bay yesterday (10-3-18). MX-1 dried out, and MX-5 south of Gonzaga Bay is in good condition. The 17 miles of unpaved road are
passable in any passenger vehicle, albeit still lots of sharp rocks.
