SHOOTOUT ON HIGHWAY 1

On Friday, 10-12-2018 while on my way down to El Rosario, I just missed a shootout between two vehicles near Camalu. There was a black SUV down in a ravine on the North side of Camalu with two dead bodies lying next to it. Federal and Municipal police lined the road as did the population of Camalu. I thought it was an accident but later learned it was a shootout of some sort.

There was a similar incident just south of Campo Lopez on Saturday, Oct. 13. Apparently a man shot his wife, then killed himself. When we drove by I saw a couple guys on their knees in handcuffs, but heard later about it being a murder/suicide. Not sure why they were cuffed but possibly looters? We were on our way to lunch in La Mision so I just caught a glimpse of the police/coroner activity as we drove south on old highway 1.
