Current Road Conditions Hwy 5

Just got back from the Gonzaga area a few hours ago. Quick road report. San Diego through Mexicali and on to San Felipe the roads are good. Leaving San Felipe going towards Puertocitos there is road damage starting aroung km 40-48. Some small vado damage. Then the road construction from km 58 all the way into Puertocitos.

San Felipe to Puertocitos took 50 minutes at a reasonable speed. Puertocitos to Gonzaga was one hour and ten minutes. There were lots moore workarounds near the bridges. Most of the bridges in this section have major damage and will be needing lot's of repairs. All of bridges will be under repair for a year or two, maybe longer.
The section from Herafinito to Cinco Islas where the big arroyos are will need to be rebuilt for about 10 miles. I saw NO graders or heavy equiptment working anywhere on my trip home today. Hopefully after Dai de Muerte they will start up again.
