BA YT BMFers whats the big deal?

so while vacationing with 20 family members - invading and taking over sheris place in Bahia Asuncion. we went out for 1/2 a day with Juan.

Not sure why all the mythology on those YellowTails, we pulled in 5, one at 40.5 lbs, the rest between 30 - 35 lbs. and we missed 2 more right at the boat (inexperienced 16 year olds wet their pants when they saw the fish). also had another 3 on the line, but they got off fairly early in the battle! Also pulled in several skipjack, 3 - 6 lbs in between the yellowtail bites.

Juan (sheris husband) is incredible, you can't go wrong with him. and I guess it was a pretty good day by local standards, a bunch of locals showed up to take a look .

and sherri , made a spectacular sushimi, thanks for that.

Having issiues with photo insertion, but sheri posted photos on her Bufadora facebook page.

Not sure of your point.
Yellowtail are fun to catch.
BA fishing with Juan is a fun way to catch yellowtail.
That is the only thing I ever heard about the place.
Isn't that what you did?
Was it fun?
Mission accomplished.

I was being facietius fishy. we had an increduble day fishing for yellowtail, been skunked many a time, and catchinmg one or 2 YT made a great day, and all of a sudden, on that one day in that one place, we were hooking up all over the place.
It's gunna be hard to fish for yellowtail again, after having a perfect day like that, hard to go back to the normal state of affairs!

A 40.5 YT is a big fish. Was that fish weighed on a scale?

Yes, that's a very nice YT. If they pin pointed it down to the half pound I would think it was weighed.

Jigging, trolling or live bait? Poppers on the surface? Fast-retrieved, light iron on the surface?

Hook:
trolling 12 inch rapallas painted up like mackerel, pretty much would troll through where all the birds and dolphins and seals were in a feeding frenzy, got a hit almost every time through it
