New Ford Baja Raptor

My daughter's ex just bought a new Shelby Ford Baja Raptor $117,000. It looks good. Maybe I can barrow it from him for a Baja run.

My brother's neighbor in Hemet just bought a new Ford F150 and paid just over $70,000 for it. I guess I'll just stay with my old 2004 trucks, both run just fine.

You barrow it, I'll buy the beer and we will head for Baja! What could go wrong? They do some amazing builds with those trucks. We ran ito some in Baja last year in the 150K price range, very nice stuff.

For that kind of money no one is going to take it off road
Of course, most 4 x 4 vehicles never go off road anyway.

Me too! My 2010 has been fantastic and rather than trade it at the end of a lease, as the previous two, I purchased it.
What year is yours, Zac?

for that price, i expect it came with a stylish refrigerator and custom bar with glassware -- I would also think it comes with a privacy screen so the owner can have privacy with the ladies in back w/o the chauffer snooping in.

or perhaps all it came with is silly extras like extra 100 HP, lift kit, shiny shocks, an air scoop on the hood, lots of blingy chrome, a "tuned" exhaust, and a bunch of purty decals advertising shelby?

it seems that many men overspend on cars to preen for the ladies,... do the big-boob ladies find pickups more attractive than luxury cars? What kind of women go for men in chromy lifted pickups?

Yup! Pure gold!

Question is, how many big butted boys does a Prius hold?

Plenty of people are going to take their new Raptors off-road...that's why most people buy them. Not everyone keeps their trucks as pavement princesses!

His old truck was a 2017 F150 and it had vibration devices built into the seat so it could give you a massage while driving. I assume the new truck has it too.

$70,000? Screw that, I'll hang on to my 2012 F150 Supercrew. Only 65,000 miles on it at this point, and it's paid for. Other than the crappy old Ford Sync (should be Stync) system and a couple of dings (I blame the wife), I'm perfectly happy with it. Of course, I said pretty much the same thing about each of its two predecessor F150s until the desire for a shiny new toy became impossible to resist.

You Tacoma guys need to quit comparing your toy to a real full size truck.

Bought my F-350 in '99' for cruising up & down the Baja. It is a 4x4, but don't do much hard off roading. Paid $35K in '99', have 345K miles on it, still haven't done anything to the motor. Great truck, so I'll leave the new toys to you young guys and girls.

Let's get you to see more of "The Baja"... You may not use your 4WD, but having it allows you feel safe driving off highways and graded roads to visit more of this magnificent peninsula. Photos and details are at the Trip Reports forum on Nomad and www.vivabaja.com, as well. This suggestion is not just for Bill. Go see Baja before a locked gate goes up on another road!
