Here in San Felipe we have more desert vegetation than we have had in 15 years. A short distance north just west of La Ventana the desert is like last year mostly bare with a few flowers blooming. I guess there is a lot of variability.

That SF desert is absolutely amazing now!!

We had over two inches of rain last Saturday night out near San Ignacio lagoon. A big mess in the flats but so great for the desert there.. Local braaptation in full force!

The desert is indeed in fine fettle this winter. As luxuriant as I can remember. My non-riding friends have asked me to enjoy my rides but be mindful of the damage I may easily inflict on the delicate native flora. I remember, years ago, seeing the devastating results of a hill climb we created in the forest once. I think it is reasonable of them to ask us to stick to established trails.

The lower Colorado river valley region of the SW has definitely got the most rain I've seen in twelve years, We had a good summer monsoon season along with epic fall rains which are rare. All the bighorn sheep water holes in the KOFA mountains of AZ are full, good year to be a Ram.

Lots of thunder, lightening and rain in El Pescadero, BCS. Waves sounding like cannons. Love it.

From last week Dec till first week Jan we rode 14 days. It is poring rain again today and the dirt still wet from last rain little creeks flowing in the streets here. Next ride pictures of jungle trail we just reopened. 20ft tree down blocking trail last two years. We went in there with chain saw in backpack. Brush cutters flash flood passed in there made new trail around fallen tree thanks Mother nature. Did not need chain saw still hard to get past big wash outs. Epic ride we did some ribbon marking. Pictures next run. Yes we always make new trails after rain but not in grass or over flowers. The burn areas still bald no green but everywhere else getting green.

Sounds wonderful for you, Larry! I wonder how the hot spring is doing (if the pool got filled in with arroyo debris)?

The rain has been frequent and we have a bumper crop of baches. This one was seen in Ensenada.
