Road condition into Playa San Rafael for large truck camper?
Hi all
My brother is looking to camp out at Playa San Rafael. It the road good enough for a large F350 with a heavy Lance camper?

Like Harald said road is good but there are a couple of spots where you need to take it easy with a heavy load.

Getting down onto the beach for camping in the sand will be the only 4WD part... and probably deflating the tires, too?

If you are referring to the fish camp where Pancho used to be, you should have no problem.
The access down the arroyo north of there was closed last March, but it was never something you should try to take a heavy rig through anyway.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

four weeks ago my neighbor flying over san rafael found numerous tents pitched around Pancho's, landing the helicopter sent all those folks scurrying
into the desert. there some bad hombres out there. enjoy but beware.

Sounds like the pescadoras who are there much of the time. Not sure why they would disperse into the desert unless there is some questionable fishing
going on there which wouldn't be the first time. I'm heading there the first week or two of Feb and it sounds like Mexicali Jose might head down too.
He has apparently had a guy living in his place for a while to keep an eye on it. Be interested to see the place, haven't been since that fateful trip
last May.
