Here's an interesting video showing how we unwittingly give away secret locations -- think Baja locations, eg Seven Sisters, etc.
If you were not aware, contemporary phones and cameras record lots of other data (Exif) in addition to the actual photo. Here's an example of some of
the data embedded in one of my photos -- you can see the exact location where the photo was taken; which direction I was facing when I took the photo,
and the time the photo was taken, down to the second.

Thanks, I have long said posting the turns and the GPS points isn't a good idea. It was pointless to argue with some here and I gave-up trying. I just
roll my eyes and and sigh. I am sure people will call this false but here is proof to the otherwise. I don't mind telling somebody about a spot over
a campfire or not. Posting images or video just inspires more people to go. There are no secrets in Baja, some are just less well known.
The other thing is, many go ill prepared and I give up my time and resources to help them out.
I don't report my trips because what I do is important to me and not very interesting. I don't need to grandize myself to anybody here.

Of course you can turn off geolocation service with keeps your secret spot secret.

It's called meta data. Don't take a pic of yourself and put it up on the internet w/o stripping it out.

Bring up a picture you have
taken with your cell phone and click on "Details". Heck my Samsung even provides a map showing where the pic was taken even my fish pics out at the

If anyone doesn't want to know where a place is, they can just not look at the Internet, can't they? I fail to understand people who come to a forum
that is for providing travel information to Baja and complain when they see travel information for Baja!
