Passport Fair for US citizens - Ensenada on March 27th

Ensenada - For the very first time in Ensenada, a Passport Fair will be held for US citizens residing in this municipality, informed Llovana Michel Valencia Pacillas, head of the Department of Citizen Participation.

The municipal official said that the City Council presided by Marco Novelo and in coordination with the Department of International Relations along with the United States Consulate in Tijuana, will offer this Fair for processing passport renewals or first-time applicationals for a US passport.

Llovana Valencia Pacillas mentioned that the fair is scheduled for March 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Casas Municipal, where Consulate staff will attend to people born in the United States of American and who reside in Ensenada, including veterans, adults and minors.

"This event is for children under 16 years old born in the USA who have never had a passport from that country as well as for adults who want to renew the document without having to go to Tijuana to complete the process," she explained.

The head of the Department of Citizen Participation mentioned that in order to apply for a US passport at the Fair, it is necessary that they schedule an appointment at the Consulate by email:

tijuanacitizenship@state.gov

Be sure to include "PASSPORT FAIR" on the subject line and you will then receive a confirmation email explaining the payment process.

Once the confirmation is received and with payment receipt in hand, show up for your appointment at the Fair on March 27th.

It is required that children under the age of 16 submit an application form S-11, birth certificate from the United States or other proof of citizenship along with their parents identification (per the birth certificate), a color photograph (2"x2") and a payment receipt showing that the processing fees were paid.

Applicants 16 or over must submit the application DS 11 or DS 82, birth certificate or other proof of citizenship, a color photograph (2"x2") and the proof of payment.
