My Misadventure (Poking around Baja, one more story)

This was my story about running into an illicit farm in my travels.
I've come to agree with the posters below. I now think posting my story does more harm than good.
Suffice it to say that when exploring the Baja backcountry, if there is a water source, there's a chance there's a secret grow operation there too.

This makes one think twice about exploring these canyons by hiking, quad or dirt bike....
They obviously had walked in, leaving no tracks...
There's a track now

Do you have any guess what they are growing? I am surrounded by quasi-legal grow operations here in Northern CA, and the one you found does not even
remotely resemble a pot farm.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

Thanks everyone.
I've come around to seeing that my fun in posting this story - even when I don't mention the canyon by name - doesn't balance well with the potential
harm to others.
I had also hoped that this could be a warning to those, like me, potentially cluelessly wandering up the canyon alone, but I can give that warning
without sharing so many details.

This story (not necessarily the details and the pics) need to be on every forum.
Bottom line - any canyon with a water source is a potential place to grow something.
Something that is valuable and needs fierce protection.
Leave hikes in canyons with water to the next generation
It is not a healthy activity

Dont need to skip all canyons with water. Just ask locals before you venture up trail. Locals will know if something fishy is going on. If you cant
find local source of knowledge, then go hike somewhere else.

I would have to agree with the goat and I would send a link to the Mexican authorities. Nothing wrong with warning people about a possible problem
area! I would have been up chit creek if I walked up that canyon not knowing what was up there! Who know how that would go for the next guy?
