What type of fuel for a panga
If I were to bring fuel for a panga in Baja, what should I bring? Do I bring oil separately or mix? What kind? How much fuel is needed for about 15
miles?

I'd "guess" 3 to 5 mpg. Depends on the size engine and panga.
Just regular Magna gas. You only need oil if it's a 2 stroke. Most are 4 strokes, no?

Don't some 2 stroke motors have oil injection where instead of mixing it in the gas you fill a reservoir in the motor and the motor does the mixing?
Of course, 4 strokes don't use gas with oil added.
Size of the motor, throttle setting, and weight of the load, like the number of people in the boat, will significantly affect mileage.

For clarification-you can not bring gas in an external tank across the border, in jerry cans, those red plastic jugs or anything, such as external
fuel cells for boats or cars. You can carry a full tank in the car and boat if its internal. You have to bring external tanks empty and fill it after
you cross, usually best at the last possible location so you aren't carring gas forever and dealing with the weight and jostleing.
Bring the recommended oil type and viscosity recommended by the engine manufacturer-you can search for it.
If it is your motor, bring an empeller just in case.
Typically external boat tanks are at least 6 gallons or more, that is more than enough to go 15 miles in most panga.
Use premium gas.

Thanks - won't bring it full. Not my boat - but I'd like to get a ride [somewhere] and I thought bringing gas along to further my plan would be a
good thing. Anybody want to do a little adventure trip south of San Felipe for 4-5 days? Entails camping, hiking, fishing, exploring. 4WD would be
nice.

When hiring a panga, the panga operator normally gets his own fuel. You are just complicating the transaction if you are going to provide fuel. And
why do you want to hassle with transporting fuel? Just bring cash.

Might be more informal than that. If they don't have fuel, they'd have to take 1/2 day, beg off someone else. I'm sure I can unload it regardless.

Magna, unleaded fuel. If you don't end up trading it for a panga ride you can put it in your vehicle (unless you're driving a diesel, of course)
Don't take oil. Chances are if they use it they will have it. Most, but not all of the motors out there are 4 strokes.
Our panga averages 4mpg, so take 5 gal.

Keep 2 five gallon cans of magna, regular, at all times when approaching random panga launch beaches.
Go into Westmarine or the mex counterpart and get 1 quart of oil for injection and 1 that is premix.
If that doesn't catch the occasional fish (or other boatride)... "try the other side of the boat." Meaning, do something different.
