3 week family trip this summer - advice wanted
Hi all,
The family and I are planning on taking a trip with a large group of friends and family to San Juanico for a week in late June. Our vehicle will have
me and my wife, and our three kids (10 months to 9 years), and our two dogs. We'll also be towing a trailer with a 4 seat razor and a mini razor for
the kids.
We are staying in San Ignacio the day before heading to San Juanico, and towing the trailer (XP4 razor may be on trailer, or may be driven,... TBD).
We are staying in a palapa on the beach with a couple friends, while a large portion of our party is staying at the Scorpion Bay Hotel. We will be
arriving on Sunday June 22, and departing Friday June 28.
I've never been to San Juanico, but it's one of my wife's favorite destinations from her youth. I'm certain we'll have a great time there.
After we depart San Juanico, we are heading south... and going to spend a couple more weeks exploring various places in Baja, expecting to return home
to San Diego on July 12 or 13. This basically gives us two full weeks of adventure time.
Here's where I'm looking for some thoughts from you wonderful nomads. I've seen the great suggestions in a recent thread HERE about some great things to do/see in Baja Sur - Thanks to everyone who put some fantastic ideas there... we'll be exploring some of that...
My real questions are around the fact that I'll have a trailer in tow with stuff on it. I have a place in Loreto that I can stash the trailer for a
few days if we want to continue the adventure without it for a time, but then I'd want to decide about leaving the razor there, or driving the razor
along with our truck as we venture south. Having the razor along with us seems good, as it will give us a second vehicle, in the event of an
emergency.
So what think you all? Take the loaded trailer with us on the excursion and possibly limit some of our exploration? Or leave it behind somewhere, and
go explore FULLY, but on our own?
Also, two weeks... what do we HAVE to do? We're more inclined to camp or rough it than stay in hotels. Keep in mind that we have our dogs too.. so any
plans will need to be pet friendly.
I am also aware that this is probably a pretty hot time to be on the gulf side of BCS, so we'll likely be doing a lot of water activities. 
LASTLY, if anyone else is in Baja during this time, and wants to meet up or go exploring or traveling together, I'd LOVE to meet up and caravan, share
stories, have a beer, etc.
Thanks a bunch for any input you guys can provide. I've gained a LOT of great info from you guys in the past couple years. You all rock.

Do not reccomend leaving anything exposed out of your immediate vicinity. If you leave your gear in Loreto make sure its in a guarded area or
community (like Loreto Bay ghetto).
The highways are rough these days . Please be ultra mindful of your speed so's not to break a trailer axle.
If you surf, San Juanico is the destination. If you dont, be content with being around lots of surfers. Hope its a trip of a lifetime for the family.

Thanks for this. I agree.. I've got a friend with a fenced/gated property in a pretty decent area that I think I'd be comfortable with leaving our
stuff for a few days..
Also, we just ran the peninsula down and back for the NORRA race a month ago, and we DID break a leaf spring on our race trailer, so I agree 100% on
the speed with a trailer thing... Always a good reminder! Those potholes come out of nowhere!

Instead of taking trailer with razors, I would take surf boards, kayaks and mt bikes -- all easy to strap onto a truck. Nothing fun about towing a
trailer on crappy/narrow baja highway, and worrying about theft everywhere you go.
Also, avoid the interior and SOC side of baja in summer months. Suggest you stick to pacific coast. the heat is really nasty and prevents outdoor
fun.
