Fish are here!

I am looking for fishbrothers and sisters who may want to split the cost of a boat out of the Old Mill in San Quintin.
There are several types and sizes of boat so the cost varies.
But about $100-200 per angler.
Less people in the boat is always better.
So 3 maximum and 2 is ideal.
Please let me know.

My friends Kelly Catian and I think his son Oscar.
Kelly and his three sons, Oscar, George, and Christian fish almost everyday so they know where the fish are and found this yellowfin, bluefin bite on day 1.

You may want to post this on bdoutdoors as well.

I'll be heading to my place at Campo Lorenzo on June 30th for an overnight on our way to BoLA...fish a couple days there and back on the 4th...my bud has to be at work on Sat...bummer.

I'll be back down mid-month July for my brother Cliff's remembrance party at probably Eucalipto - will try to get out at least once with my bud Juan Cook if he's back from BoLA.

K&M is having a blast with the BFT & YFT...

Yeah thanks.
I wonder what Capt. Juan is thinking about this
I was planning BOLA myself until I saw that our bite is early.
20 lb yellowtail versus 20-100 lb tuna and less drive.
And they have been finding kelp paddies full of yellowtail offshore from San Diego south so all the yellowtail you want.
Dorado can't be far behind now.
I do love fishing BOLA so will still try and fish there before August.

I will be there next week.
I can't pull on big bluefin right now but would love to get out on the water and see these schools of bluefin. Just had surgery.
I have one angler and me. Maybe June 19-21.
I was planning a short trip but now trying to squeeze a day of fishing in too.
I will take photos and help. And pay my split just to go.
And I get some fish too:cool:

But generally would like to make a list of people who want to split boats so I can fill in a spot on my trips or I can fill a spot on your trips.

I am still working on replacing my boat too so will need help in el futuro

Mike, are you going to do a road trip to see the rest of Baja before you settle down in San Quintín and never leave there?

San Quintin will be my home but is also in the perfect spot to explore from.
I guess like from the observatory to Puntal Baja for starters but I have several places I love and alot I haven't seen yet.
I already started my house too so will try and have the casita habitable within a year
I do have a few spare rooms in my rental house...

I'm wrapping up getting my house on the market this week so I probably won't be down that soon but depending on what else I need to do might be there in a couple weeks. If not then in July for sure, once the house here goes I'm homeless, here and in Mexico.

I'll be in San Felipe so summer being the season for those fish we could plan a trip on your side and then a trip to Bahia sometime too. Doesn't take much to get me to go fishing.

I made myself homeless also. Unintentionally.
Just timing.
But I am making my way fulltime to my camp.
This early Pacific bite will go up and down for the next month or so.
Hard to schedule.
You kinda need to be there or get called in and be ready.
It basically means going to the landing everyday so you know when a hotbite starts.
And take your best guess... and get on a boat!
And pray for fish!

I hope that I may share some cool places with you and that you can discover more!

I am still looking for a full-on dinosaur skeleton! There's already enough whale bones in people's Baja yards... A T-Rex would be cool at your place!

Keep the report going. I'm just a few hours from over there and my schedule will open.

Goodmorning.
The San Quintin bite dropped off a bit.
That is typical of the early bite.
But Kelly Catian and his men are out fishing everyday now so the reports are very good.
It should be another amazing season and this is more indication that the tuna have moved back to this area and are year round now.
So get your gear ready!
